Summary

The Chainsaw is a portable, mechanical saw. In REASON 2 DIE however, it's a VIOLENT TOOL TO CUT THOSE ZOMBIES GORY INSIDES APART!!! Sorry, got excited there.

Information

The Chainsaw is a glass cannon, and one you have to be very careful with it. It does 50 damage per tick, but it has short range that nearly every other melee beats which gives it a pretty bad bottleneck. You have to be really careful and strategic with this, it's good for picking off specials and as a last ditch effort for hordes but despite what it may seem the Katana is much better at actual crowd control. Additionally, you will become a target towards Hunters and Smokers as they can easily render you unable to fight back with careful placement of their tongue. Basically, only use this if you're REALLY confident in yourself, and have had enough training with other melees to know when the right time to strike is.

The Chainsaw is more like a support tool as it requires your team to make sure you're secure before you can use it properly. Don't try to go all Rambo and jump into action because you'll just embarrass yourself. But, with the right timing, the right person and good game-sense, a good user of the Chainsaw can carry the entire round and embarrass Tanks and other specials. AND YOU CAN TROLL SMOKERS BY CUTTING THEIR TONGUE WHEN THEY HAVE SOMEONE ELSE!

Tips

• The Chainsaw can kill a Tank within 5 seconds, but the attacker will either be fatally wounded or dead by the time the Tank is nearly dead due to the Tank's immense power.
  • Attacking the tank from the back is highly recommended since many players will not react in time, but it's better to be careful and try the tactic only when the tank has already lost half of his HP.
• The Chainsaw will break through any breakable objects without having any cooldown time.
• The Chainsaw is very good at camping in the escape vehicle as you can mow zombies the moment they get in.

Trivia

• The Chainsaw was a highly requested secondary before released.
• The Chainsaw only "works" when pressed mouse button. This will cause an animation and during this time the weapon is active.
• The Chainsaw used to have 60, then 80, ammo but the ammo was removed in v39.
• The Chainsaw is the most expensive melee weapon.
• Re-added to R2DA.
