Reason 2 Die is no longer available and, by extension, is currently marked as vaporware. Despite this, many studios have sprung forth in an attempt to accurately (or inaccurately) reproduce the original Reason 2 Die game. The following list contains a compilation of many remakes that are still around to this day including some that have unfortunately reached the end of their development cycle.

Note: ORIGINAL REASON 2 DIE REMAKES ONLY!!! Adding Awakening fangames and other junk not suitable for mass consumption is strictly prohibited.

Reason 2 Decay

Reason 2 Decay

Reason 2 Decay is a remake of Reason 2 Die created by CrystleJex, a prominent member in the original Reason 2 Die (2014) community. Deviating from the rest, the game is an attempt at faithfully reproducing the original Reason 2 Die with zero custom additions. The game is far from finished and is filled to the brim with bugs and other issues with updates being scarce.

Semi-recommended due to its glaring issues, but can be overlooked similar to Reason 2 Die: Classic Edition when wanting to view the general picture/idea of Reason 2 Die's gameplay.

Resurrection

Resurrection Thumbnail

Resurrection is a remix of the Reason 2 Die Xbox port. It contains re-balances, new maps, weapons and other bonus features. While it does play very similarly to the original Reason 2 Die, it's definitely not as hard and doesn't have as much of a skill ceiling (which can be a good thing depending on the way you like your R2D).

Recommended for new players but might not scratch the itch for people who remember or want the original game.

Reason 2 Die Classic Edition

Classic edition

Reason 2 Die: Classic Edition is a fan-made remaster of Reason 2 Die's PC version. Created by GammaShock, a former developer for the newer Awakening game, Reason 2 Die: Classic Edition originally started out on a path of accuracy until later growing more inaccurate by the day as inaccurate UI placements, cheap map remakes, and improper graphical overhauls contributed to its eventual downfall—leading to it being abandoned on April 4th, 2022—two years after its development began. As of 8/13/2024, it is currently operational and in a playable state.

Not currently recommended as it's overall inaccurate and messy, but can be overlooked when wanting to view the general picture/idea of Reason 2 Die's gameplay.

Reason 2 Die Backup

R2d3

Reason 2 Die 2009 was made open-source for public consumption on October 2010 after PlaceRebuilder was unable to continue its development. Including every last bit of content added up until its discontinuation, the files for this game can be found all over the internet. Beware, however, as ROBLOX updates over the years have rendered the experience completely obsolete. A somewhat faithful recreation can be found here.

Recommended since, it's literally just REASON 2 DIE.

Mattgrant's Resurrection 2012

Mattgrantreso

Mattgrant's R2D Resurrection 2012 is a remix of R2D's Resurrection build (2012). Developed by the same team behind Resurrection, it is an incredibly solid and accurate remake, but also contains custom content and balance tweaks such as a functional shop and inventory system reminiscent of Reason 2 Die's menu system.

Generally recommended as while not pixel perfect accurate, it definitely feels the same way and has an active development cycle.

Reason 2 Redux

R2Redux

Reason 2 Redux is a remaster of Reason 2 Die (2014) developed by users natural_world and Inteque, the latter being the former lead dev of Reason 2 Die Remastered. Originally starting out as a recreation of Reason 2 Die with well-received balance changes and mechanic overhauls, it was later viewed with disdain and hatred by a wide majority of users for straying away from the R2D formula and implementing changes that were not asked for by its community. This included the massive damage nerf of all zombies to where scratches only dealt 1 damage, Tank's rock having its damage stripped from it, and more. It has since been discontinued at an unknown date, but is still playable as of 8/13/2024.

Not recommended and is actually worse than Reason 2 Die: Classic Edition, but can be enjoyable diving in if you view it as its own thing.

Extinct

Reason 2 Die Remastered

R2dremastered

Reason 2 Die Remastered is a fan-made remix of the original PC version of Reason 2 Die. Originally starting out as a faithful recreation of Reason 2 Die, it later grew more and more inaccurate by the day with the addition/takeover of a new developer. Due to this and many other issues within the community, it was quickly marked as obsolete and closed by the original creators. Following this, one of the creators went on to create Reason 2 Die: Classic Edition.

Semi-recommended to those who wish to experience the original Reason 2 Die in a different light, but not recommended to anyone looking for an accurate remake.
