Military Audio Tape - Discovered
This audio tape was discovered by a group of contract killers somewhere in the deep South. Originally busted, it has since been fixed and auctioned off.
Audio tape number.. something. My squad and I have been treading these dangerous roads for hours now, but we must not let up after all we've been through. We passed through a supply cache a couple clicks West of this location which was the only point of interest we've seen thus far. Perhaps.. per- Fuck, Christian, stop moving! Oh shit.. 2-321! 2-321!
Walkthrough
Survivors spawn inside a picnic shed. Outside a campfire can be seen, but it does not inflict fire damage. A highway, an abandoned house and a derelict building can be viewed. There is a broken bridge which spans a reservoir. An electric pylon spans the map from the bridge to the edge.
Tips
- The Crawler spawn chance increased to 90%.
- Expect rapid and fast gameplay.
- Since the map is small, explosive devices such as Chinalake are very useful here.
- Elementals are also useful here.
Trivia
- Lay-By was originally created by Nathaniel57 under the name "Divided Route" for a game titled "Left 2 Survive", it was stolen by somebody else and was added to R2D.
- Its appearance in game has various differences from its original model, most notably the addition of several free models and the ground being turned into grass.
- Divided Route was created 3 years before the release of R2D, this technically makes Lay-By the oldest map in the game.
- Its appearance in game has various differences from its original model, most notably the addition of several free models and the ground being turned into grass.
- This is the third smallest map ever in R2D History.
- The first being Porta Coeli II from R2DA.
- And the second being Sunny Seaside from R2D: Resurrection.
- This is the only map to change time during gameplay.
- This map is heavily criticised for the free models it uses.
- Instead of a person being credited, it is listed as "Someone..." the reason for this is unknown, but it is most likely due to Lay-By being a stolen map, as well as its blatant use of free models.
- This is the only map to change the zombie spawnrate.
