Summary
The Baseball is a ranged throwable that goes for 200 studs and stuns on impact, only dealing 5 damage. Considering we're in an apocalypse where we're likely going to starve to death later, let's not worry about what can and can't be used as a weapon and just use everything we have. That was the philosophy behind why survivors stack up on Baseballs of all things.
Information
It might seem useless on the surface, but the Baseball is actually really helpful. It has practically endless range, and stuns ANY zombie or opponent. It's also only 5 dollars so it's basically free, and your team will LOVE you for suddenly throwing a Baseball across the map and stunning the Hunter about to pounce on them for example. Additionally you can also use it as a last resort and throw a Baseball at any enemy that has you seriously in danger, since the stun time is actually pretty decent for what it is!
An alternative to the Baseball is the Grenade, but the Baseball differs in that it's effects are immediate and it's much easier to utilize, which makes it much more reliable and helpful. You can always find an item box to get a Grenade after you've utilized your Baseball.
Overall, even if it's just for one-time, it's an excellent, cheap and surprisingly powerful tool, and you can even use a ranged weapon like the M1 Garand or Sniper to throw a Baseball from afar then shoot 'em while they're down!
It also has a somewhat unknown feature of being able to be hit with the Bat. If they're skilled enough, a teammate can equip the Bat and redirect your Baseball towards another location and keep it going. When done well, this can create some crazy trickshots. Practice makes perfect.
Also an excellent tool in FFA as due to how it can stun at ANY distance it's an incredible tool for countering glass-cannon type weapons such as the FAMAS, Chainsaw, SPAS or Shotgun. (Though you might get votekicked, ehehe.)
Tips
- Use this if you're too scared to use Rambo Knife or the Bat on a Tank.
- Great for trolling Tanks, as it can trip any zombie.
- It is possible to hit the Baseball with the Bat. If you succeed, the bat will be lit up with purple sparkles.
